And now, we wait

I had my two rounds of IUI (one yesterday afternoon and one today) and it wasn't really all that bad. Jason decided to submit his samples in the office once we found out the sample is only usable for 15 minutes after it's "collected" and it has to be kept at a certain body temp or it goes bad. He was really nervous about keeping it warm enough and making it to the office on time so he opted to just put aside his embarrassment and pride and take care of business at the office. I'm so proud of him, he is a trooper!! The NP who did the inseminations was very impressed by Jason's samples, so much so she made a point of telling us both times and wanted to show us what sperm looked like under a microscope. It was a bit odd to look at those little guys knowing that one of them could end up being "The One" to impregnate me but pretty cool, too. The sperm wash (where they spin it to filter out the "filler" and inactive sperm to only leave behind the best of the best for the insemination) took about 45 minutes. The insemination itself only took about 3 minutes or so. It didn't hurt, it was just mildly uncomfortable and the NP was great about telling me what was going to happen and letting me know what I was going to feel before I felt it so I was prepared. Then, I had to lie with my butt elevated and knees together for 15 minutes. And that was that. And so, now we wait.

I can test for pregnancy in 14 days, but that will be the last day of our trip so we'll probably wait until we get back to test. Hopefully my period won't come and I'll have a reason to wait. This waiting time is our greatest need for good thoughts and prayers. Positive energy can't be a bad thing so please send some our way. Again, we thank you all for your love and support. We couldn't get through this journey without you!
